National Firearms Act or “NFA” items are firearms such as full automatic, short barrel rifles (SBR’s)/shotguns, silencers, and Any Other Weapon “AOW” which does not fit the definition of a firearm that can be purchased by a person by normal procedure.
These items require additional paperwork and the payment of a special tax to the government. Most items require a $200 one time tax payment to the ATF while AOW’s require a $5 tax payment.
The process to obtain NFA items is a bit more involved than that to purchase regular firearms and takes significantly longer- measured in multiple months, not minutes. When purchasing NFA items be prepared to wait in excess of 6 months between the time you pay for your item(s) and when your approval and tax stamp is issued.
Many people are overwhelmed by the process to purchase silencers, but we will walk you through that process to make it as easy as possible.
Call or contact us and we can help guide you through the process. We don’t charge for the initial consultation and depending on where you purchase your class 3 item, there may not be any transfer fee at all!
