What is a Home-Based FFL?
A home-based FFL is simply a licensed firearms dealer who works out of their home instead of a retail store location.
For nearly 10 years I transferred firearms out of my store, Chattanooga Bar Stools & More until the shopping center was sold and we had to vacate in July 2025 after 19 years in business.
I had a lot of repeat customers that wanted me to keep handling their transfers, so I worked with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to relocate my business to my home.
We wanted to relocate to another retail location, but apparently everyone who owns commercial property in Chattanooga has discovered gold or silver under the property and collects rent accordingly. 🙂
Working from home has some advantages and disadvantages- Lower overhead means I can be a bit more competitive, however, having to have a “real job” also means that I can’t keep normal “store hours”, so all transfers are by appointment only.

Do You Sell Firearms?
We CAN sell firearms, but we do not stock any firearms for customers to browse. We specialize in doing the “Paperwork” for internet and private party purchases.
Over the past years the cost of liability insurance and the probability of theft and other issues has made it difficult for small firearms dealers to be competitive. The large “mega sporting goods stores” and online gun selling giants have the buying power to negotiate prices with manufacturers that independent gun stores simply can’t match, but, the online gun stores can’t ship directly to non-licensed customers, so they NEED licensees like us to actually transfer the firearm to the end user- you.
